This notice explains how personal data is handled when you visit vrodos.iti.gr.

Who is responsible

The data controller is the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH). The VRODOS website is operated by CERTH’s Information Technologies Institute (ITI).

Data processed when you visit

The web server and supporting infrastructure may automatically process technical request data needed to deliver and protect the website. This may include:

• your IP address;
• the date and time of the request;
• the requested address and HTTP response information;
• browser and device information supplied by your browser; and
• the referring page, when supplied.

You do not need to create an account or provide your name, email address, or other contact information to view the public website. The public website does not provide registration, comments, a contact form, a newsletter, or audience analytics.

Why this data is processed

Technical request data is processed to deliver the website, maintain its availability and security, diagnose faults, prevent misuse, and investigate security incidents. The legal basis is CERTH’s legitimate interest in operating and protecting its website under Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Cookies and local storage

The public presentation does not use analytics, advertising, or personalisation cookies and does not store visitor preferences in local storage. The interactive 3D hero and its assets are served from the same website and do not make runtime requests to third-party services.

Strictly necessary authentication and security cookies are used when authorised users sign in to the WordPress administration area. These are not used to track public visitors.

Recipients and transfers

Technical data may be accessed by authorised CERTH/ITI personnel and service providers that maintain the website infrastructure on CERTH’s instructions. It may also be disclosed to competent authorities when required by law or when necessary to investigate a security incident or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

CERTH does not sell personal data or disclose it for advertising. This website does not intentionally transfer visitor data outside the European Union or European Economic Area.

Retention

Technical logs are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for website operation, security, incident investigation, and applicable legal obligations. Data connected to an active security investigation or legal claim may be retained for the period required to complete that work.

Your rights

Subject to the conditions and limitations of the GDPR, you may request access to, rectification or erasure of your personal data, restriction of processing, or object to processing. Where applicable, you may also exercise the right to data portability.
